US Marshal's Mounted Posse

George Washington established the first law enforcement agency of our country. In 1789, he established the Marshals Service by swearing in the first thirteen men to protect the colonies. During the western expansion, the U.S. Marshal provided law and order on the frontier with men like Wyatt Earp, Wild Bill Hickcok and Bat Masterson. This non-law enforcement posse was formed to commemorate and perpetuate the Marshals Service and serve as Good Will Ambassadors while carrying historical flags that have flown over our nation.
